I work at a call center for a major cell phone company. A client called, complaining about being lied to about a data plan. After forty minutes of trying to figure out what they wanted me to do, I put him on hold. I got my manager, comped his first month, and managed to get him the plan he thought…
Over at DailyKos, user marvinborg recounts how he was handing out flyers about moving money at a local Bank of America branch. Soon after he arrived there, the branch’s manager came out and started to suggest marvinborg worked for a credit union or that he was unemployed and should “get a job.” Before long, two police officers arrived, after being called by the Bank of America.
One of the officers asked marvinborg if he was trespassing. He responded that he has simply been handing out flyers on the sidewalk. One of the officers then turned to the bank manager and amazingly scolded him for calling the police over an act of free speech, even telling him that he should move out of the country if he objects to the first amendment:
OFFICER: He has the right to speak and the right to hand out flyers. Unless he blocks you or causes a disturbance, he has the right to be here – please don’t call the police again if he is not bothering you. If you don’t like free speech you should move to another country.
Right on. We need more of this, please.
Good to see there are still some good cops that remember who they work for and what they protect.
I love it when people rant about someone who turtles in a multiplayer strategy game instead of cooperating by dying to their cookie cutter rush attack that someone else created and posted on an interweb forum. It identifies the people who suck and will give you a win by quitting if you defend your area hard enough.
Not my fault if they try to play a strategy game without understanding how it works.
I don’t think Kim Kardashian should be allowed to get the divorce. We have to protect the sanctity of marriage, and how am I supposed to explain to my kid that she got divorced only 72 days after the wedding?! And next thing you know, divorced people are going to be teachers in school, and putting their divorce agenda into the textbooks, and I certainly don’t want my children learning that disgusting stuff in school! You're oppressing me!!!!!
If there’s anyone who thinks their ‘how am I going to explain gay marriage to my kids’ argument doesn’t sound this silly, they’re wrong and stupid.
